Rising dramatically above the streets of Manhattan, the Chrysler Building becomes almost monumental from this perspective.
I created this photograph from a low vantage point to emphasize the building’s extraordinary verticality, symmetry, and Art Deco geometry. The surrounding architecture seems to converge toward the tower, drawing the eye upward while the American flag provides a small but powerful counterpoint at the center of the composition.
By working in black and white, I wanted to remove the distractions of the city and concentrate on structure, texture, light, and scale. The dramatic sky adds another layer of tension, transforming one of New York’s most recognizable landmarks into something almost cinematic.
Gotham Ascension — Chrysler Building, New York reflects my fascination with looking beyond the familiar view of an iconic place and discovering a perspective that makes it feel new again.
Created in New York City, this fine art photograph is part of my New York Collection.
