In photographing the Lincoln Memorial, I was drawn to its monumental scale and the extraordinary simplicity of its classical architecture. The repetition of the columns, strong geometry, and relationship between light and shadow give the structure a presence that feels both imposing and remarkably quiet.
Rather than simply documenting one of Washington’s most recognizable landmarks, I wanted to emphasize its architectural character—the symmetry, rhythm, texture, and sense of permanence that have made the memorial such a powerful visual presence for generations.
