Sometimes nature creates a color palette that seems almost impossible.
I was immediately drawn to this Rainbow Lorikeet for the extraordinary combination of color in its plumage—intense greens, brilliant red and orange, and subtle shades of blue and violet. Against the soft tropical background, those colors become even more striking.
Rather than simply creating a portrait of a bird, I wanted to isolate the Lorikeet from its surroundings and allow its color, texture, and quiet expression to become the focus of the photograph.
Living Color — Rainbow Lorikeet celebrates the extraordinary visual details found in nature and the moments we often pass without taking the time to truly observe.
This fine art photograph is part of my nature and wildlife photography collection.
